Buenos Aires has the greater concentration of football teams of all the cities of the world but none of them awakes the anxieties, the passion and energy like the superclassic (superclasico). The media begin to warms up the ambient with interviews to the protagonists and spectators. Finally, the day of the match several hours early the fans begin to surround the stadium eating 'choripan' (a kind of sausage sandwich) and doing a lot of sonorous and visual noise with song and chants offensive to opponent and flags, banners and strips of confetti with all the possible tones of colors of the teams.
Tradition, honour and history are ingredients that both parts put on the table.
The enthusiasm of the fans don't have the reflex in good scores of both teams. Instead they are out of the next international Liberatadores cup. In spite of that the passion of supporters are intact.
In the origins both clubs were neighbors near the Riachuelo river in La Boca. The first fundation was for the River Plate club in 1901 follow by Boca Juniors in 1905. River finally moved to the north of the city in Nuñez in 1923, since then they was called 'millonarios' (millionaires) because this was a high class neighborhood.
